About
The Den's History
In 1991 the East Perth and Claremont Youth Competitions were combined, and we became the Central Districts Junior Football Umpires Panel. After eight years, in 1999, the umpire’s association was formed to be known as the Central Districts Junior Football Umpires Association Inc. Then in 2004 individual district stand-alone football was reintroduced with Claremont and East Perth parting ways, and East Perth stating they would start their own umpire’s association.
Central Districts JFUA have continued to serve the Claremont district umpires, coaches and parents for a total of twenty-one years and over that time nine people have been inducted as life members. Life Members being Steve Johnson, Paul Ratajczac, Bob Dyer, Glenis Stanton, John McCallum, Peter Stanton, Monica Zheng, George Eastwood, Darby Thurtell, Jake Gaspar and Jean-Pierre Chedid.
In 2021, the association changed its name to Claremont District Junior Football Umpires Association (CDJFUA). Current Chairperson Jordan Pearce took over from Peter Stanton in 2021 who held numerous positions under the Central Districts committee for close to twenty years with former treasurer John McCallum.

Claremont Lifetime Members
Lifetime Membership at CDJFUA is an honour that is given to Claremont Members that have provided a significant contribution to the Claremont district. Historically this has been defined as service of ten years or greater in umpiring for the district. From season 2022 onwards lifetime membership will be judged through the following criteria:
Completion of ten years of dedicated umpiring for the CDJFUA.
Significant contribution to improving the quality of umpiring in the CDJFUA as a coach or matchday coach.
10 years of dedicated service representing the CDJFUA.
Any one of these criteria can be used as a reason to induct a member of the CDJFUA as a lifetime member. It is important to note that ten years of dedicated service is a reason on its own to induct a member into the CDJFUA, however this will be at the discretion of the CDJFUA Committee. The list below represents current lifetime members and their contribution to the CDJFUA.
